About

President Biden: there are over 2800 federal nonviolent marijuana prisoners.

We ask you to keep your word as a Biden and pardon all of them.

You called for this during your presidential campaign. Many supported you based on your word as a Biden. Your words gave us hope that our friends and family could come back to us:

“Number one, I think we should decriminalize marijuana, period,” Biden said at the time. “And I think everyone — anyone who has a record should be let out of jail, their records expunged, be completely zeroed out.”

- The Hill, “Warren presses Biden on pardons for nonviolent cannabis convictions“, November 10, 2021.

We can remember hearing these words. It was a big deal, for many of us, when a frontrunning presidential candidate said this.

And many of us voted for you.

And you won.

And now it's time.

Otherwise we're not voting in November's midterm elections. We're just not going to do it. You have innocent people you could free, guilty of nothing more than marijuana “crimes”. If you expect us to get out and vote in the midterms you need to free all nonviolent marijuana offenders.

We understand the pardon process necessarily takes time for many federal prisoners. But as we all know, no time is needed for nonviolent marijuana offenders. You supported these pardons on the campaign trail. We are asking you to follow through by the midterm elections. Otherwise -

NO PARDONS

NO VOTES

Here are the terms required for us to inform the signers of this petition of your actions:

  • Pardons must be issued and executed for all federal nonviolent marijuana offenders currently incarcerated
  • Pardons must be issued and executed for all federal nonviolent marijuana offenders facing charges

That is it. Nothing further is required; nothing short of that will move us to action. We will continue to vocally advocate the withholding of our votes.

We understand this is a complex issue for you. For us, it is not. Our people are needlessly imprisoned; you have the power to free them; you will benefit, politically, from freeing them.

Keep your word as a Biden. Undo this injustice. Send our friends and family home to us.

About Us

This all-volunteer effort was founded by friends of Dan Muessig, an upstanding member of the Pittsburgh community who is about to serve a 60-month mandatory minimum federal prison sentence - on marijuana charges. Many of us involved are people from around the country with friends and family in prison. We believe this campaign to be our best chance to bring them home.
